COVID-19 Response

SME COVID-19 Safety Plan for Winter 2023

As the world starts to settle, we will continue to take the pandemic seriously and follow all Public Health Advisories, Recommendations and Orders. In the height of the pandemic, we adapted and made the necessary changes to our operation to keep our guests, staff, and community safe.

How we are adjusting your Durrand Glacier Experience:

  • All guests and staff are strongly encouraged to have the latest doses of the COVID-19 vaccine prior to arriving at the Chalet.
  • Guests and staff are asked to stay home if they are feeling unwell prior to arriving at our morning meeting location. At the Chalet, guests and staff will be asked to self-asses their health each morning and report any new findings. If guests have rapid tests available to them, we encourage guests to bring a test with them. Testing before your arrival to the Durrand is appreciated but not mandatory.
  • Guests and staff are asked to increase their hand washing hygiene. Water and soap are available in the washroom and hand sanitizer is found in the washroom, bedrooms, dinning area, and entrance of the Chalet. Please ensure you are using it every time you enter a room to help keep you and those around you safe.
  • Masks are recommended when travelling to and from the Chalet by shuttle and helicopter. Anyone wanting to wear a mask in the Chalet, is encouraged to do so. Please bring masks with you.
  • We have always held ourselves to stringent cleaning procedures and we will continue to be committed to the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation procedures.
